About Our Association
A legacy of excellence and brotherhood that began in 1957 and now reaches across the world.
A Legacy of Excellence and Brotherhood
Shahid Sergeant Zahurul Huq Hall opened in 1957 as the fifth residential hall of the University of Dhaka, and carries the name of a martyr of the Agartala Conspiracy Case. The first national flag of Bangladesh was made here and hoisted on 2 March 1971. Over the decades the hall has produced countless scholars, professionals, leaders and changemakers who are making an impact across the globe.
The Alumni Association keeps that community alive after graduation: a verified register of former residents, mentorship between seniors and students, reunions and academic events, and funds that go straight back into the hall.

Message from the Contributor
Ahsan Habib Imroz
Vice President (VP)
2025 – 26One of my commitments was to create a platform where the alumni of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall can be connected in one place. SergeantsDU is a step toward that vision, bringing together alumni information, professional networks, events, opportunities, and memories across generations.
A great deal of effort has gone into building this platform. I hope it will strengthen the lifelong bond among present and former Sergeants and create meaningful opportunities for connection, collaboration, and mutual support.
